Characteristics of pseudo boehmite:
Pseudo boehmite is a non-toxic, tasteless and odorless white colloidal (wet) or powdery (dry) product. It has small particle size, high pore volume, large specific surface area, good gel solubility and high crystal purity. It has the characteristics of thixotropic gel and is very soluble in strong acids and alkalis. The dry powder has hygroscopic phenomenon when exposed to the air.
Main application forms of pseudo boehmite:
1. aluminum source for binder and molecular sieve synthesis in petrochemical and refining catalyst industries
Pseudo boehmite is mainly used as FCC catalyst as binder. Pseudo boehmite as binder can not only improve the strength of the catalyst, but also adjust the pore size distribution of the catalyst, improve the thermal and hydrothermal stability of the catalyst, adjust the density of acid active sites of the catalyst, and improve the catalytic activity.
2. used as catalyst carrier
Pseudo boehmite is widely used as catalyst carrier in various chemical, oil refining and petrochemical reactions. Typical examples are hydrofining catalyst carrier, reforming catalyst carrier, methanation catalyst carrier, etc. Pseudo boehmite becomes γ- Alumina can also be used as a catalyst.
